Our location

The courses are held in Rota, a small historic town on the Costa de la Luz in southern Spain. Rota is situated in the Bay of Cadiz and is surrounded by 16km of beautiful sandy beaches. Because of its temperate climate (ranging from average of 15 – 35º) and its invigorating Atlantic sea air, it attracts many tourists (mostly from within Spain) in July and August. Out of this high season (when our courses take place) it functions as a typical lively Andalusian small town. It has a strong sense of community and life-balance is taken very seriously so don’t be surprised if you find yourself welcomed into the midst one of its many traditional festivals.

Course sessions will be held in various locations in the centre of Rota. When the weather is suitable, some meetings may take place in secluded corners of the beach.

Rota is surrounded by miles of beautiful coastline and stunning hillside villages. The historic towns of Jerez, Seville and Cadiz offer a rich cultural heritage - the heart of Flamenco - interesting architecture, museums, theatres and churches, as well as enticing bars and restaurants.

If you are keen for some additional stimulation and learning, vwe can also advise you on where to take classes in the following:

Horse-riding
Sailing
Flamenco dancing
Spanish
Yoga

If you want to chill out after all this activity, there is a local hydrotherapy spa and a qualified osteopath who does excellent therapeutic massage.

Accommodation and food

You will stay in a hotel of your choice in the centre of the town which is only ever a few minutes walk from one of the beautiful beaches. We will provide you with contact details of our recommended list of hotels ranging from a luxurious 4 star to small budget hotels. Rota has many excellent and very reasonably priced restaurants and small tapas bars. The fish is particularly fresh and superb as fishing is one of the town’s principle industries. In good weather, participants can easily arrange group picnics.

Alternative airports are Malaga (2 1/2 hours drive) and Seville (1 3/4 hours drive).

The nearest rail stations are Puerta de Santa Maria and Jerez. Rota also has excellent bus services.
