La Granja is a beautifully restored Andalusian farmhouse in the Sierra Norte National Park, an oasis of calm with tranquil uninterrupted views of soft rolling hills, 10 mins walk from the centre of the lively white hill town of La Puebla de los Infantes.

La Granja is situated well off the beaten track between the magnificent ancient cities of Seville and Cordoba. This area of Southern Spain has the warmest climate in Europe. The nearest airport is Seville (1 hr) but it can also be easily accessed from Malaga and Madrid by rail or road.

La Puebla de los Infantes is a totally uncommercialised picturesque pre-Roman town. It is renowned for its warm hospitality and numerous traditional street festivals. Its many bars and restaurants offer a wide range of simple traditional food.Several now offer internet facilities. Just outside the town is situated a local favourite, Las Palomas, which has a superb terrace overlooking the Jose Toran lake – the perfect place for viewing the stunning sunsets.

The surrounding countryside is ideal peaceful terrain for ramblers and cyclists, also offering many other activity opportunities including swimming,canoeing and rowing in the nearby Jose Toran lake; paragliding, microlight planes and hang gliding in the lakeside valleys; fishing in the nearby lakes and Retortillo river which have an abundance of mullet, carp and bass; and horse and donkey riding.

La Granja’s 7,500 square metre olive grove has been expertly landscaped by a prominent professional gardener and contains an abundance of vines, fruit trees and exotic plants.

The house is surrounded by traditional Andalucian patios, one of which looks out onto a fountain. The garden can be floodlit to take advantage of long balmy evenings.

The recently installed pool has an automatic filtration and cleaning system, and has its own poolside shower and antique brick patio surround. It has underwater lighting for cooling night time swims in the heat of the summer.

Accommodation

La Granja has 1 double; four twin bedrooms; two bathrooms and a large lounge with a kitchen attached. It is comfortably furnished in traditional Andalucian style. There is independently controlled air conditioning in most rooms and also a highly efficient log fire and electric radiators for the winter months. More photos?
